11 weeks

Eirik is 11 weeks old today.  He had his first round of vaccinations at his doctor's appointment yesterday, which was a success.  Both he and mommy are doing great. :) Just thought I'd throw that in there.  It was definitely a day that I had NOT been looking forward to for quite some time, but after getting through the experience and seeing that Eirik IS a true champ, I feel much better about the whole vaccination thing.  He was a bit more tired, a bit more fussy and just a bit warmer to the touch, but other than that he was just fine and this morning woke up just as happy as he always does.  Also, he weighed in at a healthy 15 pounds 9 ounces (97th percentile) and was 25 inches long (93rd percentile).  So, yes, Eirik is STILL a big boy!  And his father couldn't be more proud!  haha!

Eirik at 11 weeks......
  • You are just getting happier and happier with each passing day and it is such a joy to watch!
  • You have started to scream when you get excited which is super cute.
  • You make this gurgling noise over and over again in your throat while batting your eyelashes and sporting the biggest grin across your face.  Such a flirt you are!  This makes me laugh out loud every day because it is so funny to watch........truly hysterical!
  • I have heard you giggle (slightly) three times already.
  • Can you tell that you are a happy boy? :)
  • You have completely outgrown your colic.  It really only lasted until you were about 7-8 weeks old, so you've been done with this for a while now.  Yay!!!
  • You are getting to be a little more independent now.  You finally like being in your swing.  You also love to lay out on your play mat, be in your bouncy chair, and sing songs with mommy.   I think I've mentioned this before, but you love to sing!  You usually just chime right in and start singing along with mommy, but if you're not in the mood to sing yourself you at least smile while mommy is humming along.  So we know you love music.
  • You aren't really interested in your toys yet and that's okay with me.  Maybe you'll never be interested in them.... that would be awesome!  Then we won't have a lot of loud, plastic, ugly toys cluttering up the house.  (aaaahhhhh...........'sigh'!  A girl can dream, right?)
  • You are really drooling a LOT and starting to discover your hands.  You always have your fists in your mouth and are always trying to pull your clothes off.  Hence the pictures below.
We love you buddy!
