Okay, so I've been terrible about keeping this blog updated.....

In one more week, Eirik will be 5 months old.  I honestly can't believe it.  This time has just gone so fast.  I feel like if I blink, he'll be a little one year old.  It's been wonderful being able to stay at home with him.  We may do a little less or choose to go without a little more than we would if I were working, but I'm so happy regardless and in the end, having more things don't make you happy anyhow.  I feel very fortunate to be able to stay at home, be there with Eirik every moment and just live a simpler and more slow paced life.  In fact, I'm enjoying this simple life thing so much that I hardly even get on the internet anymore.  Hence, the blog not being updated.  haha!  I will try to get better, but it's just been hard for me.  Even though I really like having our memories recorded (and I know I will really enjoy looking back on this in the future), it's pretty time consuming, and now when I have spare time I can think of a million other things I'd rather do (or need to do).
Our days are pretty simple and routine somewhat.  We try and get out and visit with people, and it's fun once we get there, but it's still the getting there that is a stuggle.  Eirik still HATES riding in the car.  We've tried everything.  He has a mirror so he can see me, he has toys to play with, we play music, we've tried leaving during nap time so he'll sleep, we've tried leaving after a good feeding so he's not hungry, we've even switched out his car seat etc. etc. etc.  The fact of the matter is that he just HATES it still and I don't think there's much to be done about it.  Other than that, he is a very happy and easy going little guy.  He has hit so many milestones since the last post, I can't even believe it.  Eirik is completely rolling over now, front to back, and back to front.  He rolls, scoots and wiggles all over the room now and is very fast at it!  He gets up on his hand and knees and rocks back and forth.  I think we'll have a crawler soon.  He is pretty much sitting up now.  He will still fall to the sides or backwards sometimes so he's not always completely balanced, but he's almost got it.  He's still teething but hasn't popped any teeth yet.  He loves, loves, loves his Johnny Jump Up.  He can bounce around in that thing forever and just smiles and giggles the whole time.  He is laughing a lot now.  He thinks his Daddy is pretty funny.  And he thinks his cousin, Corbin, is funny too.  He loves hanging out with all his cousins and loves being around other kids.  He's still a momma's boy, but he definitely is starting to love being around his daddy more.  Eirik just lights up when Shane gets home from work.  It's like, "Yes, play time is on!!"
Eirik is still going through one massive growth spurt.  hahaha!  Eirik had his 4 month check up with Dr. Loveland a few weeks ago.  Eirik weighed in at 19lbs 10oz (98th percentile) and measured 27.5 inches (98th percentile).  Dr. Loveland asked me, "What are you feeding this child?" like he does every time we go there.  I responded, "Still just breastfeeding," like I do every time we go there.  hahaha.  We always have a chuckle, because it's the same conversation every appointment, but I think he just likes to double check and make sure that's all that I'm actually giving him.
I will post some pictures, but they are not current....sorry!  We went down to Winfield this past weekend and I left our camera down there, and I didn't have a chance to download the most current pictures to my computer before we left. These are about a month old.

But I'm tired and my teeth hurt.....Can we go home now?
But don't you want to stay and see all the cute farm animals?
Nope, I'd rather sleep thanks!

  1. OH, Jenny, what a doll! He is sooo cute. Sounds like things are going great! We recently just had a car/car seat issue come up? Caroline refuses (I mean all out crying/screaming) to ride in Kane's mom pick-up. Have NO clue way? Kane thinks that it might have someting to do with the back windown being so close to her?? She has NO problem in my Expedition. Aren't they so picky :) You have a little chuck on your hands..AND I love it! You must make some awesome milk for your man :) My brother was a big baby at one year he was 36 lbs. Your man might beat him :) Chat with you soon. Take care!
